Middletown senior guard Kate Fitzpatrick, who ended her career as the leading girls scorer in Middletown history, was named to the first team last week of the Pa. Sportswriters’ Class 4A All-State squad.

In the first quarter at Milton Hershey on Feb. 4, Fitzpatrick made a free throw to register her 1,587th point, passing 2016 Middletown graduate Ja’Lynn Burton-Jones.

Fitzpatrick ended her career with 1,614 points, 420 rebounds, 203 assists, 251 steals and 140 3-pointers.

She plans to attend Millersville University to play basketball and softball.

She was second-team all-state as a junior.

The 4A Player of the Year was Taliyah Medina, Bethlehem Catholic.

The rest of the sportswriters’ first team is Mackenzie Amalia of Blackhawk, Kylee Lewandowski of North Catholic, Timaya Lewis-Eutsey of Lansdale Catholic, and Tess Myers of North Catholic.
