New patriotic banners now hang on lightpoles in downtown Middletown.

Borough council May 5 approved purchasing 80 of the banners for $78 each from Carrot-Top Industries of Hillsborough, North Carolina. The banners will stay up until September when the borough will replace them with its fall banners.

Evan Grogan and Scott Ash, seasonal employees working for the borough's Public Works Department, spent part of Thursday putting up the banners.

Grogan is a 2020 graduate of Middletown Area High School while Ash is a 2019 MAHS grad. They both played on the Blue Raiders varsity football team.
